Battelle details $200M expansion in Central Ohio

Research powerhouse Battelle will go forward with a $200 million expansion that could lead to the creation of more than 200 jobs in Central Ohio.

The three-year effort from the Columbus-based institute is expected to generate an annual economic impact of more than $450 million, a prospect Mayor Michael Coleman called “an oasis of economic opportunity” in a desert of bad news.
“We’ll take (the investment),” Coleman said Wednesday during the announcement at Battelle’s King Avenue headquarters. “We want it, we need it and we’re proud of it.”
